Rioting by numbers

Oh happy memories, at least for this armchair anarchist. Reminds me of the riots following the NATO bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade. The Chinese Government laid on coaches from the universities to the British and American Embassies to make sure all the rioters could get there in good order, and when they arrived the riot police directed them to heaps of stones which lay by the roadside, as the pavements were being repaired. Making sure that all the students were properly supplied with missiles, the police then let them through the barricades.

Meanwhile your correspondent was trapped in the British Embassy. Not exactly trapped by crossfire or anythin interesting, more by the fact that escaping to the safety (and limitless food and drink supply) of the Ambasador's Residence required climbing over a wall that he was too fat to surmount....
