What three otherwise sensible people have said about Webside Gleanings
It is a treasurehouse of the bizarre and the offbeat, and it could quite easily eat up 30-60 minutes of your day every day unless you approach it with caution. So - be cautious, be self-disciplined, but do go and have a look. It's a gem.

Its cross-eyed editor is an unsung genius who provides a happy meeting place on the net for the disillusioned, the slightly sociopathic, and people with a laptop who have a long time to wait for their train. A familiarity with the more arcane reaches of Church history may help the reader with the less obvious jokes.
It's like wandering into an emporium with lots of choice trinkets and ornaments that you never knew existed and would look just lovely on the mantelpiece.

I haven't dared to check that bassoon reference yet. Perhaps there are some things it's better not to know.
Fear not - it isn't one of those wartime naval expressions. It's an area of the brain, invented by Chris Morris for the drugs episode of Brass Eye.
And don't you remember my Leonard Nimoy extravaganza? All we need now is DeForest Kelley singing "Anarchy in the UK" and we'll have the set.
Ah, yes it all comes back to me now. 'Brass Eye' seems a very long time ago now.
